The Great Race to Fort Ticonderoga

For weeks now I had been actively lobbying for a side trip to see historic Fort Ticonderoga along Lake Champlain. This remarkable fort was at the center of American history during the French & Indian Wars and during the American Revolution. The fact that it was almost two hours away from our hotel at the Sugarbush Resort in Warren, Vermont just didn’t seem like a reason not to go!
